Shimano is one of the largest and most recognised cycle component brands in the world, famous for producing professional equipment. These shoes are designed as an entry-level shoe but they have a much higher specification than other shoes geared towards beginners. Usability
There are a number of vents in convenient places in these shoes, including in the synthetic leather and under the toebox, ensuring that your feet are kept feeling fresh throughout the entire ride. The heel is an incredibly tight fit, but not too tight, just enough to keep your feet secure and your skin from any chafing or rubbing.
If there is one thing to comment on, it would be the sizing of the shoes. The Shimano R077 road cycling shoes are available in UK sizes from a 2.5 through to a 13, but it is generally recommended that you seek a half size larger than your standard shoe size as otherwise you might find the shoes a little too snug.
Quality
As always with a pair of Shimano shoes, these biking shoes are of the highest quality and are built with the rider in mind from concept and design right through to production. The soles are made from glass fibre-reinforced polyamide which shows no flexibility, perfect for transferring power from the legs to the pedals.
The cleats on the underside fit most systems including two-bolt SPD, three-both SPD-SL, and Look-style. The Shimano R077 road cycling shoes are incredibly lightweight due to the material of the sole, and the synthetic leather uppers. If supportive shoes are what you are looking for, Shimano’s R077s will be ideal as the closure system with Velcro straps conforms to your individual foot shape, ensuring the perfect fit and avoiding any pressure points.
Disadvantages
As with all Shimano biking shoes it is a good idea to get at least a half size, and sometimes one full size above your normal shoe size. The only real negative is that the R077s are available in limited colours and wouldn’t really make a very good fashion accessory. The Shimano Road Cycling Shoes are impressive. They are comfortable and have excellent ventilation. Thus your feet don’t get really sweaty when cycling. They pack a lot of punch for the price.
Not much can be said about the Shimano RO77. They fit well and are comfortable. I am a size 10.5 US and ordered a size 44 which was the correct conversion. However they were too small which is why I recommend buying big. I returned them to the company I got them from and they sent me a size 45. The size 45 fit perfectly and I took a few rides to figure out exactly, how I wanted them to fit. So far, I have had them six months and not a single problem so far. They are perfect if you are in the market for an inexpensive shoe, but are looking for something comfortable.
There really isn’t much to say other than that they do the job. I recommend buying big. I ordered a size 46 which should have been the correct size. However they were too small and my toes cramped up. I returned them to the company I ordered them from and got a size 48. Now they fit perfectly. They took a few weeks to get used to however I am really pleased now. I have already put around 500 miles on them without any problems.
